Cooperative Work Experience CWE
The CWE program is designed to allow students to receive High School graduation credit from a productive, structured work experience. Juniors and Seniors may apply for participation in the CWE program. Juniors may be released for maximum of TWO CWE periods. Seniors may be released for a maximum of FOUR periods. CWE WILL NOT be allowed during periods 1,2,5,6.
If you would like to sign up for CWE:
1. You must currently have a job. Students must have a paid position at a licensed business. You must work 5 hours a week for every period you are released. A junior who is released for two periods (one period each day), would need to be working 10 hours a week. A senior who is released for four periods (2 periods each day) would need to be working 20 hours a week.
2. After you have a job you will go and see your counselor. Your counselor will enroll you in a CTE class. You must be in a CTE work related class to get credit for CWE. Your work experience and class should be related to your SEOP goals. After the counselor has enrolled you in a CTE class he/she will fill out a card (hot pink) to take to Mrs. Mounga in C-3.
3. Mrs. Mounga will take the card and then give you a CWE packet to get signed. You and your parents sign the packet as well as your supervisor and Mrs. Clawson. Mrs. Clawson is the CWE school supervisor. You will get her signature last.
4. Mrs. Clawson will give you the workbooks and the paperwork that you will need to turn in to get credit for CWE. After you have Mrs. Clawson's signature, return the packet to Mrs. Mounga in C-3. Mrs. Mounga will then sign your card approved and give you the card (hot pink) back to take to your counselor. This packet MUST be returned within five days or credit may not be granted.
